Giard, Peter S. - Giard, Peter S., 64, of Warwick, died peacefully at home on Saturday, January 15, 2011. He was the loving husband of Sharon M. (Hanley) Giard. Born in Providence, he was the loving son of Francis L. Giard of Pawtucket and the late Mary (Quinn) Giard. Mr. Giard fought a 10 year battle with Lewy Body Disease with courage and determination to live as normal a life as possible. He was a Master Scheduler for General Electric for 13 years. He was a graduate of Tolman H.S., URI where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees, and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Peter was an avid golfer who was a member of Potowomet Golf Club, and Woodland Greens Golf Club. He was a member of the APICS Association. Besides his loving wife and father, he leaves his four siblings: Michael F. Giard of Irving, TX, Marcia M. Busher of Clermont, FL, Leslie A. Palombo of Warwick, and Paula D. Hazard of Huntington Beach, CA. He was the beloved nephew of Frances Robberson of Rumford and leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. He was the father of Allyson R. Giard Downey of NYC. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95). Burial with Military Honors will follow in The RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Gibbs, Sally Jane - Gibbs, Sally Jane - Age 47, died Tuesday, September 29, 1992 at Hurley Medical Center.  Funeral services will be
held 1 p.m. Friday, October 2, 1992 at the Brown Funeral Home, Dr. James D. Lougheed officiating.  Burial in Gracelawn Cemetery.  
Miss Gibbs was born July 11, 1945 in Flint and had lived here all her life.  She had been employed at AC East for 23 years and was a
member of UAW Local #651.  Surviving are: 4 cousins, Shirley Johnson of Kimberling City, MO, Robert Surface of Swartz Creek,
Russell Surface of  Flushing, Sherry Horton of Burton; many second cousins; 4 dear friends, Ed VanKeuren of Flushing, Helen Mason
of Flint, Nellie Kizer of Beecher, Terry Stiltz of Flint.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian M. in 1969, and aunt Annabelle M.

Gillespie, Freeman - Gillespie, Freeman - Of Flint, age 84, died Wednesday, January 29, 1997 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.  
Funeral Mass will be held 9AM Saturday at Flint St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci will officiate with interment in Calvary
Cemetery, Mt. Morris.  Mr. Gillespie will remain at Miles Martin Funeral Home, where friends may call 11AM-9PM Friday.  Family,
friends, and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary 7PM Friday.  Saturday morning, family will assemble at the
funeral home for prayers at 8:15, then proceed to church for Holy Mass.  Mr. Gillespie was born January 24, 1913 in Flint, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward J. and Mary E. (Howell) Gillespie.  He was a graduate of St. Michael Catholic School, Flint and attended Assumption
College.  He was joined in marriage May 30, 1969 to Lucille Daigneau.  Mr. Gillespie was a Veteran of World War II serving with the U.
S. Air Force in Harlington, Texas.  He was a charter member of the Mt. Morris Township Fire Department, serving as driver and a
member of the American Legion of Flint.  He retired in 1971 from Buick Motor Division Time Office with 37 years of service.  He is
survived by: wife, Lucille; step-daughter, Diana Fisher of Grand Blanc; 2 grandchildren, Steven Fisher, Leslie Fisher; sister, Mary
Katherine McIsaac of Mt. Morris; 3 nieces, Sue Ann Craglow of Hale and Mt. Morris, Mary Jane and husband Willis Norman of Clio,

Gillespie, Lucille I. - Gillespie, Lucille I. - Of Flint, age 82, died Saturday, October 31, 1998 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in
Goodrich.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday, November 3, 1998 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2500 North Franklin
Avenue in Flint, Father Francis J. Faraci officiating.  Burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Morris.  Visitation 3-9PM Sunday and 2-
4 and 6-9 PM Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.  A rosary will be prayed at 6:30PM Monday at the funeral
home.  Mrs. Gillespie was born in Cheboygan, Michigan on June 19, 1916 and was a resident of Flint and Mt. Morris for over 65 years.  
She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in 1923.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Flint and the Altar
Society.  Surviving are her daughter, Diana Fisher of Grand Blanc; granddaughter, Leslie Fisher of Livonia and grandson Steve Fisher

Goodell, Alden D. - Alden D. Goodell, 79, West Cohasset, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997 in Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids.  He
was born Nov. 4, 1917, in West Cohasset to Joel and Phoebe Goodell and was a lifelong resident of West Cohasset.  He graduated in
1935 from Grand Rapids High School.  He married Ruth Watt, June 14, 1952.  He owned and operated a dairy farm in West
Cohasset.  He was a member of First Church of God, Dairymens Association, Farm Bureau for many years, National Rifle
Association, Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and trapper.  He was preceded in death by an
infant son, Joel Patrick in 1955; his parents; one brother; and five sisters.  He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Jim (Brenda) and
Bob (Anita) both of Cohasset; a brother, John of Grand Rapids; a sister, Naomi Hemphill of Hibbing; and nine grandchildren, Dennis,
Jeremy, Matthew, Jennifer, Patrick, Jacob, Ashley, Denise, and Brandon.  Visitation: Today, 6-8 p.m. in Libbey Funeral Home Chapel.

Goodell, Bonnie Ann - Bonnie Ann Goodell.  She was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Walker, to Harold and Eleanor (Miller) Beddoe.  She
graduated from Walker High School in 1959 and moved to Illinois where she married Leo Graves in 1964.  They moved to Grand
Rapids in 1971 and started Combo Furnace Company in 1972.  They sold the business in 1981.  She married George Goodell in
1987. She worked at Christus Group Home for about 10 years.  She was an avid snowmobiler and was secretary of 38ER's
Snowmobile Club for many years. She is survived by her husband, George, Cohasset; four sons, Brad Graves, Fresno, Calif., Brian
Graves, Anoka, Tim Goodell, Cohasset, and Marc Goodell, Van Nuys, Calif.; a daughter, Kelli Haugen, Oak Grove; her father, Harold
Beddoe, Grand Rapids; one brother, Richard Beddoe, Grand Rapids; a sister, Mary Lou Gunsolley, Winona Lake, Ind.; and five
grandchildren. Preceeding her in death were her first husband, Leo, in 1982, her mother, Eleanor, in 1995, and a brother, Joe.

Goodell, John M. - John M. Goodell, 90, Grand Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at the Itasca Nursing Home. He was born Sept.
20, 1910, to Gabriel and Phoebe (Class) Goodell in West Cohasset where he grew up.  He married Viola McKay Aug. 5, 1936, in
Grand Rapids.  He farmed for many years south of Pokegama Lake in the Crystal Springs area. He also worked many years in the iron
mines of the East Range. He owned and operated the North Star Service Station in Hill City from 1965 to 1969. He then worked
several years as a watchman with the Pinkerton Agency at the Blandex plant in Grand Rapids. He married Martha (Oakes) Kauti Oct. 6,
1990, in Grand Rapids. He was an active member of the First Church of God in Grand Rapids, the neighborhood Farm Bureau and the
National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Lucy Flessner, Hill City, and Marcia Holm, Grand Rapids;
two stepdaughters, Anita Davis, Woodinville, Wash., and Kathy Wendt, Grand Rapids; a son, Rodney Goodell, Oconto Falls, Wis.; a
stepson, Richard Kauti, Alpharetta, Ga.; a sister, Naomi Hemphill, Hibbing; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, eight
stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Viola, in 1987; four sisters, Otis
Foster, Mary Fitzgerald, Venita Goodell and Nancy Goodell; two brothers, Philmon and Alden Goodell; and a grandson, Thomas

Goodell, Martha - Martha (Kauti) Goodell, 91, Grand Rapids, died Sunday, October 17, 2004, at Grand Village in Grand Rapids. She
was born August 11, 1913, to John and Mary (Rumpa) Oakes in Wawina, where she grew up.  Martha attended school in Wawina and
Grand Rapids, graduating from Grand Rapids High School in 1931. She then graduated from Bemidji Normal School as a school
teacher. Martha taught elementary grades in the Alvwood, Shallow Pond and rural Grand Rapids schools. She also tutored for many
years. Her first husband, Eino Kauti, died in 1983. On Oct. 6, 1990, she married John Goodell and they made their home in Grand
Rapids. She was a member of the First Church of God in Grand Rapids and the Finnish Club. She is survived by daughters Kathy
(Robert) Wendt, Grand Rapids; and Anita (Nick) Davis, Woodinville, Wash.; stepdaughters Marcia (Darrell) Holm, Grand Rapids; and
Lucy (Lynn) Flessner, Hill City; son Richard (Darlene) Kauti, Alpharetta, Ga.; stepson Rodney (Corrine “Corky”) Goodell, Oconto Falls,
Wis.; sister Katherine Raki, Deer Park, Wash.; eight grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 10 step-
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Eino Kauti; second husband John Goodell in 2000; and
numerous sisters and brothers. Funeral: Saturday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. at the First Church of God in Grand Rapids with the Rev. William
L. Mallernee officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church social hall. Visitation will be from noon to the 1 p.m. funeral

Goodell, Nancy Jane - Nancy Jane Goodell, 70, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died April 29, 2003 at her daughter's home in Oklahoma
City after suffering from lingering health problems. She was born October 1, 1932, in Calumet to Philmon and Ada Goodell.  She grew
up in rural southwest Itasca County and lived in Grand Rapids, Hibbing, Chisholm, Cohasset, and Minneapolis.  She moved to
Oklahoma City for health reasons.  She served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, as
a teletype operator. She worked for Itasca County in the 1960s and also worked for Hennepin County.  In Oklahoma City, she worked
as a typesetter for several printing companies. She is survived by her children, Frank (Judy) Gersich, Monmouth, Ill.,  Albin Gersich,
Kent, Wash., Joseph Gersich, Chisholm, Kerry Melton, Oklahoma City, Okla; a sister, Joelle; and two brothers, George and William
(Carol) Goodell. Services: Saturday, July 26, at 1 p.m. at First Church of God, Grand Rapids.  Visitation from noon until the service.  A

Gravelle, Emil - Emil Gravelle, 88, of rural Deer River died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 at his home. Emil was born April 17, 1916 to Emil
Paul and Delia (Young) Gravelle in Arbo Township. He was united in marriage to Irene Eisel on April 20, 1940 in Grand Rapids. Emil
worked for Cleveland Cliffs as a truck driver and was also a logger for 25 years retiring in 1977. Emil is survived by his wife of 64 years,
Irene; three daughters, Donna (Ray) Rivera of Adrian, Mich., Darlene Anderson of Hibbing and Tammy (John Bender) Gravelle of
Grand Rapids; three sons, Emil (Deanna) Gravelle II, Dale Gravelle, Terry (Jennifer) Gravelle, all of Toledo, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and
16 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Ronald Paul Gravelle; two daughters, Della Marie Zupfer and
Irene Marie Gravelle; nine sisters, Lucille "Lucy" Schaeve, Ella Boardman, Flora Pion, Delia Kelly, Arminty Jewett, Myrtle Lore, Edna
Adlesich, Sarah Gravelle, Albena Gravelle and seven brothers, Manuel, Abe, Herbert, John, George, Richard and Dick and a
granddaughter, Shelley Winkleblack. Services: Friday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Rev. Thomas

Gravelle, Ronald P. - Ronald P. Gravelle.  He was self employed and owner of Ron's Carpet Service, installer of floor coverings for 30
years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He had raced autos for 27 years, starting at Toledo and Flat Rock speedways for 15
years and then switched over to dirt tracks. He raced at Oak Shade Raceway, Bryan Motor Speed Way and Flag City Motor Sports Park.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Tonya Ayres, Ottawa, Lake Michigan, and Jamie Paxton, Sylvania; a son, Ronald
Gravelle, Toledo; his parents, Emil and Irene Gravelle; sisters, Donna Rivera, Darlene Anderson and Tammy Gravelle; brothers, J.R.,
Terry and Dale Gravelle; and four grandchildren, Ryan Ayres, Kodie and Sumerr Paxton and Rhiannon Gravelle. Preceding him in
death were two sisters, Irene (Renee) Gravelle and Della Zupfer.  The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor's choice.

Gravelle, Verna - Verna 'Mae' Gravelle, 76, Verna “Mae” Gravelle, 76, Sauk Rapids, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at the St. Cloud
Hospital. She was born Feb. 17, 1927 in Cohasset to Peter A. and Nettie L. (Davis) Hoard. She married Orville E. Gravelle on July 25,
1946 in Cohasset. She lived in the Grand Rapids area and moved to the Sauk Rapids/Rice area in 1969. She worked as a welder
during World War II and later worked as a nurse’s aide, for Jack Frost, and as a nanny. She also volunteered at the St. Cloud
Children's Home as a foster grandparent for 16 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Sauk Rapids. She is survived by
her sons, Eugene (Linda), Virginia Beach, Va., Edward, whereabouts unknown, Doug (Gwen), Waite Park, Don (Barb), Rice; sister,
Virginia Ploof, Coleraine; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Orville
in 1964; brothers, Clarence, Harold, and Howard Hoard; sister, Glenice Flug; and three infant siblings. Services: Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 1

Graziano, Paul D. - Paul D. Graziano, 45, of Gorton Holden Terrace died June 15, 2006, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Jodi-Lynn (Patnaude) Graziano. Born in Cranston, he was the son of Vincent W. and Lorraine M. (Storti) Graziano of Cranston. Paul was a customer service rep. for National Grid for several years. He was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School and was a member of the Green Hill Beach Club. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves two brothers, Vincent R. Graziano and his wife, Colleen M., of North Scituate and Bob J. Graziano and his wife, Maureen A., of Cranston; and nephews and nieces, David J., John V., Joseph R., Andrew J. and Laura C. Graziano, Nicholas J., Chelsea E. Uva and Daniel H. Rathbone. The funeral will be Tuesday, June 20, at 8:45 a.m. from the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Church, One St. Paul Place, Cranston. Grenier, John H. - Grenier, John H. - of Mt. Morris, age 81, died Monday, March 13, 1995 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.  Funeral
services will be 1PM Thursday from Miles Martin Funeral Home.  Burial in Flint Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home
after 6PM Tuesday, all day Wednesday, and Thursday until time of funeral at 1PM.  Wednesday evening the Mr. Morris Lodge #535

be made at the funeral home or direct.  Mr. Grenier was born May 24, 1913 in West Branch, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Harold and
Mary Louise (Bartells) Grenier.  He married Vivian F. McLean, October 18, 1932.  After his retirement, they moved to Lake City to live
until returning to the Mt. Morris area in 1985.  He was a member of Mt. Morris Lodge #535 F&AM.  Mr. Grenier retired in 1972 from
Fisher Guide Coldwater Rd. Plant as a Tool Maker.  Surviving are: wife, Vivian; 4 children, Shirley and husband, Gerald McLachlan of
Lake City, Marifrances "Babe" and husband Bill Butterworth of Clio, Diane and husband LeRoy Sibert of Mt. Morris, Marion and
husband Duane Hammond of Clio; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and

Gubody, Robert - Gubody, Mr. Robert, Carrollton, Michigan. Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday,
April 8, 2004 at Saint Mary's hospital. Age 95 years. The son of the late Charles and Esther (Ach) Gubody, Robert was born March 3,
1909 in Slakersville, Pennsylvania. He married Addie M. Rashotte on July 3, 1937. She predeceased him November 19, 1973. Robert
had been employed at Chevrolet Transmission and Michigan Sugar Company until his retirement in 1971. He previously belonged to
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a current member of St. Mary Cathedral and U.A.W. Local #467. Surviving are two sons,
Robert L. Gubody, Carrollton; Gerald J. Gubody, Saginaw; two grandchildren, Michael Gubody, Saginaw; Sharon and Michael Szeman,
Mt. Pleasant; two great-grandchildren, Griffin and Phoenix Szeman, both of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Ann, Helen and Mary, all of Las
Vegas, Nevada; several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Gubody, and by an infant
brother, Alex, and by five brothers and two sisters, Louis, Joe, Charles, Alex, John, Esther and Elizabeth. Mass of Christian burial will
take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at St. Mary Cathedral. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at St. Mary Cathedral where the family will be present
on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service 7:00 p.m.
