Haemmerlein, Marvin Thomas - Haemmerlein, Marvin Thomas - Age 66, of Swartz Creed, died Sunday, October 27, 1996 at Genesys-
St. Joseph Campus.  Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, October 30, 1996 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller
Road, Swartz Creek, Pastor Luther Rogers officiating.  Interment at Flint Memorial Park.  Visitation 10AM-9PM Tuesday at Sharp

Church.  Marvin was born July 15, 1930 in Flint, the son of Roy and Lila (Fournier) Haemmerlein and has lived in the Flint area all his
life.  He married Cherry L. Bivins in Flint on May 7, 1949.  Mr. Haemmerlein had been very active in church activities for 40 years and
presently a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.  He owned and operated Marv Haemmerlein & Sons Building Contractors.  
Surviving are: wife, Cherry; 4 children, Sue and husband Randy Johnson of Grand Blanc, Marty Haemmerlein of Flint Township, Melody
and husband Terry Everman of Flushing, Marvin F. and wife Jama Haemmerlein of Argentine; 7 granddaughters, Tammy, Kristy, Terry,
Tiffany, Nicole, Samantha and Haley; 2 grandsons, John and Randy; 3 great grandsons, Marty, Isaac, and Logan; brother, Al and wife
Norma Haemmerlein of Flint; 4 sisters, Viola and husband Angus Ruston of Flint, Leota and husband Hubert Ingrham of Grayling,
Delores Visnaw of Northern Michigan, Joyce and husband Louis Harrison of Clio; special aunt, Miriam Fournier; several nieces and
nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Marty T. Haemmerlein II; and brother, Lovell Haemmerlein.  Flint

Hagman, George J. - George J. Hagman, , He was born Feb. 17, 1913, at Duluth where he grew up and attended schools. On June 8,
1940, he married Lenore Ylinen in Duluth. The couple lived in Cloquet and St. Paul prior to moving to Grand Rapids in 1942. He
worked 32 years for the Internal Revenue Service. He was a member of the Citizens Band Radio Club and Itasca Lodge No. 208 A.F. &
A.M. in Grand Rapids. He was very active in DeMolay in Grand Rapids. He is survived by three daughters, Georgianne Fitzgerald,
Grand Rapids, Cynthia Hay, Birmingham, Ala., and Elizabeth Pufall, Saxon, Wis.; a son, Richard Hagman, Los Angeles, Calif.; 10
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, Lenore, in 1996; his parents, Otto and Hilda
(Puirola) Hagman; and a son, David, in 1996. Funeral: Thursday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids. Visitation

Hanley, Rita V. - Hanley, Rita V. (Patnaude), 87, of Natick Avenue, formerly of Smith Street, Warwick, where she resided for 40 years, died Friday at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late William H. Hanley. A daughter of the late Frank and Mary L. (Fournier) Patnaude, she had lived in Warwick most of her life. Mrs. Hanley was an Inspector of Crystals for the Bulova Watch Case Co. in Providence until her retirement. She was a member of St. Rose and St. Clement Parish. She was an avid gardener and Red Sox fan. She was the loving mother of Sharon M. Giard of Warwick. She was the sister of the late Corienne Platt, Irene B. Miller, and Ernest, George, Edward, and Alfred Patnaude. Her funeral will be held Monday at a time to be announced. Visitation Sunday 6-9 pm in The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Hanley, William H. - William H. Hanley, 84, of Smith Street, Warwick, a retired machinist, died Tuesday at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Rita V. (Patnaude) Hanley. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Patrick and Alice (McGee) Hanley, he lived in Warwick since 1959, previously residing in Providence. He was a machinist for the former Millard Wire Co. in Providence and Warwick for 20 years until he retired in 1980. He had been a machinist at the former Machine Service Co. for 15 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 29th Infantry Division. He received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Sharon M. Giard of Warwick, and two sisters, Margaret Viens of Fairlesshills, Pa., and Theresa Parr of Oxon Hill, Md. He was the brother of the late Arthur Hanley and Irene Boudreau. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Clement Church, Long Street. Haranda, Hazle Bernadette - Hazle Bernadette Haranda, 74, of Standish, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Monday, July 23, 2007 at St. Mary's of Michigan Standish Hospital in Standish. She was born Jan. 24, 1933 to Albert and Bernadette Drinkwine. Hazle lived in the Standish area her entire life. She worked for the Arenac County Independent for over 40 years. A quiet and gentle person, she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons, Alan (Barbara) of Marlette and Scott (Jennifer) of Manton; six grandchildren, Krysten, Jaime, Michael, Maxwell, Lucas, and Victoria; and one great-grandchild, Ryan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Bernadette Drinkwine and two sisters, Irma Suave and Ella Kraus. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the R.O. Savage Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the chapel from 11 a.m. till the time of service on Thursday. A private committal service will be held Friday. Harris, Charles D. - Harris, Charles D., - Of Flushing and Osprey, Florida, age 79, went to be with his Lord, at his residence,
surrounded by his family, Saturday, March 12, 2005.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at St.
Robert Catholic Church, 310 North Cherry Street in Flushing, Father Roy Horning officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to
the St. Robert's Guardian Angel Fund.  Visitation 5-8PM Monday and 11AM-3PM and 5-8PM Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225

of the Mass on Wednesday.  Charles was born in Flint, Michigan on April 3, 1925, the son of Samuel T. and Maud (Reed) Harris.  He
married Margaret Adelia Belill on April 3, 1948 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint.  He served his country in the Naval Reserves.  
Charles worked for General Motors, as a supervisor and later as a labor coordinator for A.C. Spark Plug, retiring with 40 years of
service.  Charles was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel of Osprey, Florida.  Prior to joining St.
Robert Parish, Charles was a member of St. Francis Church, where he was a Eucharistic minister, lector, and music minister.  He
was a member of Emmanuel prayer group. Charles enjoyed golfing, campfires, writing spiritual songs, spending time with his family,
baking cookies for his children and grandchildren and working in his yard.  Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Margaret; children,
Charles (Marilyn) Harris of Cass City, Samuel (Gracie) Harris of Flushing, Connie (Tom) England of Birch Run, Daniel (Desiree)
Harris of Alabama, Cathy (Ray) Stadler of Grand Blanc, Shawn (Michael) Wenzel of Flushing, Marcia Harris of Troy, Carol (James)
Briscoe of Linden, Martin Harris of Swartz Creek; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great
grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Joshua Harris; 2 brothers

and excelled in hockey. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota in engineering. He is survived by his wife, the former Bonnie

Hawkins, Pearl M. - Pearl M. Hawkins, age 81, of Pinconning, MI, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at the Laurel's of Mt. Pleasant, MI, following a lingering illness. She was born in Standish Twp. on October 21, 1926, to the late Charles and Emma (Howden) Samson. She married William LaVern Hawkins on June 3, 1944, in Pinconning. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1999. Pearl was a member of the Pinconning Wesleyan Church and enjoyed sewing and camping with her family. She is survived by three sons William and Connie Hawkins, Keith and Sharron Hawkins and Reed and Lorraine Hawkins; grandchildren: Matt and Heidi, Shawn, Danielle and Christopher, Keith, Aarone and Dawn; step grand children: Carolee Carter and Matt Wallace; great grandchildren Katie, Lexy, Alyssa, Daniel, Lillia and Lydia; step great grand children: Savannah, Kayal, Owen, Ethan and Andrew. She was predeceded in death by her three sisters Arlene Hopper, Vera Allen, and Esther Gould. Hemphill, Naomi Goodell - Naomi Goodell Hemphill, 94, of Hibbing went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at the Greenview Residence. She was born on June 5, 1913, to Gabriel and Phebe (Class) Goodell on a farm, west of Cohasset. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School and Bemidji State Teachers College with a degree in elementary education. Naomi began her career at the Leighton Brook School in Cohasset, which was a one-room school; she also taught in Goodland. On May 28, 1938, she was united in marriage to Blaine Hemphill of Hibbing at her parent’s home. The couple moved to Duluth, then to Abbotsford, Wis., and then to Hibbing, where she resided for 61 years. Naomi was a homemaker, and dedicated her life to her family. She was active in the Wesley Methodist Church and served as worthy matron in the Eastern Star. She and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels. Naomi loved to sew, cook, crochet, knit and do her crossword puzzles, as well as read her Bible. She was a loving, sweet, caring person who, throughout her life, took care of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Naomi will forever be remembered because of her love for children. Her presence in our lives will be forever missed. Smile Forever, Mom. Heritier, George - Mr. Heritier, age 75 years, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at Bay Medical Center following a lingering illness. George was born January 7, 1927 in Saginaw to the late William & Florence (Shepherd) Heritier. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was the owner operator of BayCorp Mobile Home Transport. He married the former Marlene Moore, she preceded him in death on February 4, 2002. He is survived by a son George Heritier Jr. of Oak Park, & daughter Fern Huiskens of Essexville; step-children, Donna Branch of Arkansas, Tammy & Dave School, and Brenda Miller both of Bay City; several grandchildren and special friends Tom & Cindy Bond. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karie Heritier. Heritier, Joseph - Joseph E. Heritier, 56, of Turner, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Saint Mary's Standish Community
Hospital.  He was born on July 17, 1948 in Bay City, the son of Ed and Martha Heritier.  He managed Heritier Drainage for many years.  
He is survived by one son, Christopher; one daughter, Jo-Lin; his ex-wife Linda; parents, Ed and Martha Heritier; two brothers, Michael
and Leonard; one sister, Caroline; and seven grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Saturday, May 21 at the Full Gospel

Herman, Jeremy M. - Jeremy M. Herman of Standish, 34, passed away at Bay Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Feb. 25.  He
was born on July 23, 1969, and graduated from Standish-Sterling Central High School in 1987.  He worked as an electrical lineman
and was a member of the American Legion.  Survivors include his parents, William and Mary (Szostak) Herman of Standish; special
friend Rachel Lutz of Standish; two sisters, Jessica of Kawkawlin and Jamie of Washington, D.C.; his grandparents, Jake and June
Herman; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by grandparents Joseph and Jennie Szostak.  Rite of
Christian burial took place on Feb. 28, from St. Mary's Catholic Church (Nine Mile) in Pinconning with Rev. F. Joseph Miller officiating.

Mr. Herriman was born in Michigan, July 1, 1904, and had been owner and operator of Herriman's Dairy from 1939 until 1957.  He was
one of the founders of the Mt. Morris Twp Fire Dept. adn had been chief and assistant chief of the Department.  Surviving are: wife,
Lucille of Flushing; son, Elmer of Flint; 4 daughters, Barbara O'Dell of Mt. Morris, Grace Skutt of Grand Blanc, Judy Rising of Clio and
Janet Martin of Flushing; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-granson; 2 brothers, Frank of Flushing and George of Mt. Morris, sister, Fern Martin

Vera was born in Flint, Michigan, on January 17, 1931, the daughter of Horace Oliver Cecil and Eileen ( Grubaugh ) Wallis. She graduated from Utly High School, Flint, Michigan, with the class of 1949. Vera married John William Hibbler on February 11, 1950, in Flint, Michigan. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and collected Teddy Bears. One of her goals was to visit every town in Michigan and she visited most of them. Vera was involved with missionary work at her church and with the Vanguards Senior Citizens who met at the church. Vera was a member of Duplain Church of Christ, St. Johns, MI. She is survived by her husband Bill Hibbler of Elsie, MI, 2 daughters; Janis and Raymond Fuller of Byron, MI, Connie and Ron Risley of Prescott, MI, 4 Sons; John and Robin Hibbler of Fremont, OH, Steve Hibbler of Bannister, MI, Stan and Kathy Hibbler of Elsie, MI, Dean and Jean Hibbler of St. Johns, MI, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Shirley Farrell of Swartz Creek, MI, Linda May and Fred Stadler of Sand Lake, MI, and 1 brother Kenneth and Betty Wallis of Lennon, MI. Hicks, Cheryl (LaClair) - Cheryl (LaClair) Hicks, of Green River, Wyo., formerly of Standish, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Green River, on Sept. 12, 2009. Cheri was born on Aug. 7, 1950 in Bay City, the daughter of Louis and Pauline (Bellon) LaClair. Cheri was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Cheri spent much of her life caring for and nurturing children (Day Care Provider) and adults (Adult Foster Care). She enjoyed many aspects of the community theater in Standish when she lived there. Cheri took pleasure in being outdoors and gardening. Cheri is survived by her mother Pauline LaClair, Tucson, Ariz.; children, Rhonda (Wally) Schneider, Ithaca, William (Tiffany) LeClair, Bakersfield, Calif., Janette (Todd) McCoy, Tokyo AFB, Japan; grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, and Farrand Schneider, Ithaca, Ashleigh and Tristen McCoy, Tokyo AFB, Japan, Abigail LeClair, Bakersfield, Calif.; sister, Vivian (Jim) Hignite, Pinconning; three nieces and a nephew.She was preceded in death by her father, Louis LaClair; brother, Roger LaClair and a niece. Highling, Tina M. - Tina M. Highling, 88, of Ash Street, died Saturday at the Woonsocket Health Centre, Woonsocket. She was the widow of Franklin N. Highling. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Georgeanna (Patnaude) Taupier. Mrs. Highling had worked for the International Stretch Products for five years as an inspector before retiring in 1976. She previously worked for the former U.S. Finishing Co. She was a communicant of St. Edward Church. She leaves a son, Bernard A. Highling of Pittsburgh, Pa., and nieces and newphews including Jeannine Taupier Bourassa of Newport, and John H. Taupier of Dennis Port, Mass. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the Merrick R. Hillier, Jacob - DEATH OF A VETERAN. – Yesterday, Mr. Jacob Hillier, of the township of Ernestown, died at the advanced age of 107 years. He was born near Little Falls, on the Mohawk River, commonly known as Mohawk Flats, on the 9 th of November, 1764. After the revolutionary war he removed to this country and took up his abode in this township, where he resided up to his death. Honke, Ruth Ann - Honke, Ruth Ann - Of Byron, age 64, died Thursday, May 8, 2003 at Genesys Health Park, Grand Blanc.  Funeral
service will be held 11AM Monday, May 12, 2003 at teh Streeter Funeral Home, 507 W. Maple, Byron, Rev. Fred Finzer officiating.  Burial
in Byron Cemetery.  Visitation at the funeral home Saturday 5-8PM and Sunday 11AM-8PM with the family present 5-8PM.  Memorial
donations may be made to the Byron FFA Alumni and Friends Association of the Byron Community Scholarship Fund.  Ruth Ann was
born in Gaines, MI on October 29, 1938, the daughter of Wilbur J. and Donna L. (Hathaway) Niles.  She married Wayne E. Honke in
Fenton, MI on October 25, 1958.  He preceded her in death on July 2, 2002.  Ruth Ann lived her entire life in the Byron area.  Ruth Ann
was a graduate of Byron High School, she was the salutatorian of the Class of 1956.  She was a member of the Byron Alumni
Association and served on the Board of Directors for the Byron Area Ambulance Service.  For over 10 years, she was a leader with the
Antrim-Burns 4-H Livestock Club.  Ruth Ann owned and operated Ruth Ann's Beauty Nook in Byron for over 30 years.  She currently
was employed by the Byron Area Schools as a custodian for 7 years.  She assisted her husband Wayne before his death on the family
farm.  Surviving are her son William Honke and friend Paula of Byron; daughter, Megghan Honke of Byron; brother, Allen and wife
Charlene Niles of Fenton; half-sisters, Cheryl and husband James O'Brien of Durand; Roseanna Kay Hamilton of Burt; many nieces,

Honke, Wayne E. - Wayne E. Honke - Of Byron, age 64, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at U of M Hospital, Ann Arbor. Funeral service will
be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2002, at the Byron High School, 312 W. Maple, Byron.  Rev. Fred Finzer and Rev. Lindell L. Brady

Community Scholarship Fund.  Wayne was born in Corunna, Michigan, on October 5, 1937, the son of Edward and Loretta (Ritter)
Honke. He married Ruth Ann Niles in Fenton on October 25, 1958.  Wayne lived in the Byron area since 1952.  Wayne was a graduate
of the Byron Agricultural School - Class of 1956.  He had been the Burns Township Supervisor since 1985.  He served on several
organizations, including the Michigan Pork Producers and the Shiawassee County Agricultural Society.  Wayne was a 4-H leader.  He
was very active with the Byron FFA Alumni, spending many hours working with the students on the AG Forum teams, coaching and
preparing them for competition.  Wayne owned and operated his own farm since 1956.  He was also a Byron School Bus Driver for 12
years.  Surviving are: wife, Ruth Ann; son, William of Byron; daughter, Megghan of Byron; sister, Wauneta and husband Wayne Ritter of
Byron; brothers, Dales and wife Doris Honke of Byron, Melvin and wife Evelyn Cellarius of Grant Park, Illinois; several nieces,
nephews, great nieces and nephews; many cousins; aunt, Dorothy Honke of Prudenville; uncle Alvin Honke of Corunna.  He was
