James, Donald I. - Donald I. James, 70, of Alger, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at West Branch Regional Medical
Center. He was born in Grayling, MI, on March 28, 1936, to Frank and Rose (Pratt) James. Don married May Bell Ballor in Bay City in
1968; she preceded him in death in June, 2006. Don was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Air Force. He retired in 1998, as
maintenance manager of West Branch TollFree/ & Regional Medical Center. Don was an avid hunter. He loved teaching his children
and grandchildren the sport. Survivors include: His children, LouAnn Phillips of Bay City, Colleen Chaltraw of Standish, Vickie
LaLonde of Pinconning, Christi Sheeks of Kawkawlin, Donald James Jr. of West Branch, Mark James of Florida, Brian James of
Alger, Matthew (Peter) James of Alger, and Donald Carrier of Bay City; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris
Kraft, Shirley Kraft, brothers; Fred, Roger, Richard, Wayne, Howard, and Sonny (Bill) James. He was preceded in death by his wife,
May Bell, and son, Todd James, sisters: Irene Siegwart, Thelma Grochowski and Jean Stohard. Per Don's wishes, cremation has

Janish, John J. - Died Nov. 14, 2005. John J. Janish, age 92, passed away Nov. 14, 2005 at West Branch Regional Medical Center
with his family at his side. He was born April 18, 1913 to Lawrence and Minnie Janish in Twining. He grew up on the family farm. As
a young man he went to work for Pontiac Motor Corporation. He met and married Elizabeth Weishuhn on July 15, 1913. They
returned to Arenac County back to the farm. John is survived by two sons Ron Janish and Terry (Darlene) Janish of Twining; daughter
Laura Henderson of Pellston; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister Marie Peavler of Indiana. John was a
member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in AuGres. He joined the Knights of Columbus on April 1, 1945 and was a lifetime member.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Elizabeth in February 2005. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov.
18 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in AuGres, with interment at Cedar Valley Cemetery in Twining. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8

Johnson, Cecelia - Cecelia Marie Johnson, 101, of Saginaw, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002. Cecelia Marie Meisch was born
March 3, 1901, in Saginaw to Victor and Theresa (Christ) Meisch. She married Louis Johnson on Sept. 28, 1924. He predeceased her
on May 12, 1986. Mrs. Johnson was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of St. Roch Catholic
Church in Caseville. Surviving are five daughters, Dorothy Schafer and her husband, Arnold, of Unionville, Joanne Maturen and her
husband, Howard Jr., of Saginaw, Mary Lou Krueger and her husband, James, of Bradenton, Fla., Barbara Kelly and her husband,
James, of Saginaw, and Margaret Morgan and her husband, Russell, of Saginaw; one son, William Johnson and his wife,
Linda, of Lake Wales, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Meisch; and
many other loving family members and friends. Along with her husband, she was predeceased by two grandchildren and three
sisters. The funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at the St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville. Fr. Kenneth
Yaroch will officiate with interment to follow at Caseville Township Cemetery. A prayer vigil will take place at 7 p.m. tonight at the Reitz
Herzberg Funeral Home on Midland Road between Gratiot and State in Saginaw. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The family would like donors to consider a memorial offering to St. Roch

Johnson, William L. - Lake Wales - Mr. William L. "Bill" Johnson, 83 years old, of Lake Wales, Florida, died Saturday, August 14 2010, at Lake Wales Medical Center, of heart failure. He was born February 15, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan to Lewis and Cecelia Meisch Johnson. He was a resident of Lake Wales since 1978, coming from South Miami. He served during WWII in the U.S. Army as a military police officer in Korea. After discharge he attended Wayne State University and graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science. He moved to South Miami in 1955 and was a manager for Lithgow Funeral Centers until he acquired his own business, the Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Bill was a member and past president of the Lake Wales Noon Rotary and South Miami Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow with forty-five years of membership. In 1984 he was elected to the Lake Wales City Commission, served nine years, and was Mayor in 1988. He was a past president of the Polk County Funeral Directors Association and member of the International Order of the Golden Rule. He was a member of the Lake Wales Country Club. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales and the Potter's Wheel Sunday School Class. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty years Linda Coffman Daisey Johnson, children Robert Johnson and wife Deborah of Englishtown, NJ, Gwen R. Johnson and husband Peter of Venus, and Eric Daisey and partner Steve of Orlando, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and five sisters Dorothy Schafer of Unionville, MI, Mary Lou Krueger and husband James of Bradenton, Joanne Maturen, and husband Howard, Barbara Kelly and husband James, and Margaret Morgan and husband Russell, all of Saginaw. His children William, Jr., Michael, and Beverly preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be Friday, August 20, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. from the First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales with Pastor Jeff Kantz officiating. Interment with military honors will be made at Florida National Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 23, 2010. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Jewell was born August 23, 1924 in Piggott, Arkansas, daughter of Doc and
Julia (Horn) LIngle. She was married to Sidney E. Johnson on February 21, 1942, he preceded her in death on November 24, 1996.
She was employed by Grand Blanc Schools and General Motors as a cook. Jewell had lived in Linden since 1967, coming from
Grand Blanc. She attended Grand Blanc Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, music, snowmobiling and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin "Ted" Brunsden; daughter, Sandra Jean Montague and husband David of Grand Blanc,
Deborah Ann Walsh and husband John of Linden; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; cousin, Marshall Horn of Burton;
step-children, Larry and Ted Brunsden. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Johnny; brother Everitt Lingle;
