A woman for whose amiability and genuine worth of character there were none but words of praise and commendation. After a period of many years ailment but of only one week of serious sickness Mrs. John LaClair was called to her eternal reward and while there is heart breaking sorrow in the family circle the consolation thoughts remain to those most stricken that for her the passing is but the transition from mortality to immortality. Mrs. Laclair whose maiden name was Zeo Gendron, was born in Burnway, Canada, 80 years ago this coming August. She was married to Mr. LaClair fifty-eight years ago in Chateaugay by the late Father Edmund DePauw. Mrs. LaClair’s life work was in her home and her great ambition was to labor for the comfort of those whom she dearly loved. Amid all her trials and tribulations she never for a moment lost sight o f her God or allowed the most important duties to interfere with her devotion to her church and during her years of residence here she was a faithful attendant and communicant at St. Patrick's church. Her whole life proved a true Christian woman and now she has gone to receive her heavenly reward, promised to those who followed in His footsteps. Many an earnest prayer will ascend to the great throne that God be merciful to her soul.
