Unger James - James Unger.   He was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Trout Lake and served in World War II in the South Pacific with the U.S.
Marine Corps. He worked at the Danube Mine in Bovey for 27 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; a son, Larry; a daughter,
Barbara Karjala; two brothers, John and Lyle; two sisters, Lee and Mary Jane; and four grandchildren, Ryan and Lori Unger and Darus
and Justin Finke. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Mary Jane Unger, four brothers, Max, Tom, Bill and Glenn, and a
sister, Rose. Funeral: Monday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine. Visitation is Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the

Unger, John A., Jr. - John A. Unger Jr., 86, Grand Rapids, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in the Itasca Medical Center. He was born
April 22, 1916, in Trout Lake, to John and Mary Jane (Hiam) Unger Sr. He lived most of his life in the Bovey and Trout Lake area. A
barber for 53 years, he had owned barbershops in Bovey and Coleraine and had co-owned the High Style Beauty Salon in Grand
Rapids with his sister, Lee Hurley. He had been a member of the NRA and the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. An Army veteran
of World War II, he served in the African and European Theaters. He and Muriel Smith were married on April 24, 1954, in Grand
Rapids. He is survived by his daughters, Nell (Donald "Peanuts") Hoey, Grand Rapids, and Jane (Mark "Spook") Chamberlain, Bovey;
grandchildren, Stuart, Phillip and Katie Hoey, Grand Rapids, and Max and Mariel Chamberlain, Bovey; a great-grandson, Gabriel Hoey,
Grand Rapids; and a sister, Mary Jane "Te Te" Unger, Coleraine. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Muriel in 1988;
brothers, Max, William, James, Thomas, Lyle and Glen; and sister, Lee Hurley and Rose Unger. Services: Monday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m.
at Peterson Funeral Chapel. Visitation is Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and will continue from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial: Lakeview

Unger, Lyle - Lyle Unger, 74, formerly of Baudette, Minn., and Florence, Ariz., passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, in Fargo, N.D.
He was born in Calumet, Minn., on March 21, 1927, to John and Mary Jane Unger. He married Alva Johnson Oct. 15, 1949, in
Coleraine. Lyle worked at the Oliver Mining Company before enlisting with the U.S. Marine Corps. He served 2 1/2 years in World War II
in the South Pacific. He later became self employed, owner/operator of Lyle's Beauty Shop in Grand Rapids. He is survived by his
loving wife of 52 years, Alva Unger; two sons and three daughters, Mary Lee (David) Peterson, Bemidji; Jim (Deb) Unger, Grand
Rapids; Jo Anne (John) Mikulich, Bovey; Heidi Unger, Las Vegas; and Bill Unger, Duluth, Minn.; seven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren; sister Mary Jane Unger, Coleraine; brother John Unger, Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Mary Jane Unger; and brothers and sisters Glen, Rose, Max, Lee, Bill, Tom and

Unger, Mary Jane - Mary Jane "Babe" Unger, 77, Grand Rapids, died Monday, June 24, 2002, in the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital,
Minneapolis. She was born May 23, 1925, in Superior, Wis., to Eugene and Estelle (Fitzgerald) Murphy. She attended Arbo Schools
and was a 1943 graduate of Grand Rapids High School. She had lived in Superior, Guttenberg, Iowa, the Arbo area and since 1939,
had been a resident of Grand Rapids. She and James N. Unger were married in 1948 in Midway. She had been a payroll clerk for the
Blandin Paper Company for 37 years and had worked at Whitimore Drug in Grand Rapids. She was a member of St. Joseph's
Catholic Church of Grand Rapids and the Blandin Retired Employees. She is survived by a son, Larry (Barb) Unger, Buffalo; a
daughter, Barb (Craig) Karjala, Bovey; grandchildren, D.J. Finke, Marble, Justin (Laura) Finke, Coleraine, Ryan (Heather) Unger,
Lindstrom, and Lori (Jeremy) Tammi, Andover; stepgrandchildren, Ann Karjala, Bovey, and Craig (Krissy) Karjala, Fridley; two
great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, James (Jan) Murphy, Grand Rapids, and Richard (Joan) Murphy, Crystal
Lake, Ill.; sisters, Virginia Adams and Margaret (Judo) Predovich, both of Coleraine; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her
in death were her parents; her husband, James, in 1998; and a brother, Jack Murphy. Services: Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. with parish prayers at 7 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine.

Urbaniak, Ronald - Ronald Kenneth Urbaniak, age 48, of Rhodes, MI, passed away April 11, 2008, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center unexpectedly due to a work injury. He was born in Bay City, MI, to Ronald Walter Urbaniak and Carol Marie (Kleinert) on November 19, 1959. Ronald Kenneth Urbaniak married Lorrie Ann (Rashotte) of Sterling, on March 15, 1980. He was employed at William E. Lang, Inc., of Beaverton since 1989 and shared many fond memories with those he worked with. He owned and operated with his son, Brennan, B&R Ponds and Excavating. He will be missed by all who loved him. His is survived by his wife, Lorrie, of Rhodes, and their two beautiful children, a son Brennan Lee Urbaniak of Rhodes, and a daughter Brielle Laree Urbaniak of Bay City; his brothers and sisters; Debra (Ken) Fisher, of Newago, Andrew (Tina) Urbaniak, of Gladwin, Andrea (Michael) Porter, of Sterling, Michael (Becky) Urbaniak, of Pinconning, and Zan (Tammy) Urbaniak, of Omer; his grandparents Walter (Bettielue) Urbaniak and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home, 107 2nd St., Pinconning, MI, 48650. Urchike, Audrey - Urchike, Audrey (Andy) - Age 88, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Flint, died Friday, April 14, 2006 at Banner Desert
Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. Andy was born July 17, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945.
Andy worked for General Motors for 45 years as a tool grinder/cutter at a V8 engine plant in Flint. Mr. Urchike was preceded in death by
his wife, Ella; grandson, Kelly Stafford; sister, Sophie Shreve; and brother, Stanley Urchyk. Andy is survived by Dorothy Stetler, his
companion of 22 years; daughter, Josephine Whetstine of Flint; son, Robert (Patricia) Urchike of Chandler, Arizona; daughter, Margaret
(Bryan) Aseltine of Flint; son, William (Linda) Urchike of New Lothrop; daughter, Patricia (Greg) Williams of Clio; eight-grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place in Arizona. A Service of Remembrance will be
held 11AM Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Reigle Funeral Home Sunset Chapel.  Flint Journal, April 2006
