An assumption has been made in these pictures that the family of Patrick and Mary Fitzgerald spent part of the years from 1931-1934 at Mary's parents farm, that of Joel and Phoebe Goodell in Cohasset, Minnesota.  Many of the pictures appear to have been taken there from recognized buildings; further, in John's baby book Mary wrote that the family left the Goodell farm to go to Flint where Patrick had work on May 12, 1934.  What is not clear is whether the family lived in the farmhouse with Grandma and Grandpa Goodell during these times, or in a separate dwelling on the property, as there does appear to have been a modest home with a screen door the children were in front of during the summer of 1932.  That they lived at the Goodell farm is still just an assumption based on those bits of information.  Given that the family was found in the 1930 Census living in Flint, Michigan, on Belle Avenue, and from memories by those living at the time, the move was made several times during those years as work was easier to come by in the Genesee County area of Michigan than it was in the Itasca County area of Minnesota.
